BOOKS (including ebooks)
Lastname, Firstname. Title of Book. City of Publication: Publisher, Year.
Medium of Publication.

* Book with no author

* Book with two or more authors

* Source from an anthology
Adams, Alice. “Truth or Consequences.” The Riverside Reader. Ed. Joseph

NOTE: for ebooks, the medium of publication should be Web or Electronic.
REFERENCE BOOKS
"Title of Entry." Title of Reference Book. Edition (if given). Year of
publication. Medium of publication.
Reference books include encyclopedias, dictionaries, etc. It is not necessary to include publication information, page numbers, or volume numbers when citing a reference source.

MAGAZINES (aka Periodicals or Journals)
Article from a scholarly journal:
Author(s). “Title of Article.” Title of Journal Volume. Issue (Day Month Year):
pages. Medium of Publication.

Poniewozik, James. "TV Makes a Too-Close Call." Time (20 Nov. 2000): 70-71.
Print.

NOTE: If you access an article from the online version of a magazine, you need to include the date you accessed the information.

NEWSPAPERS
Article from a newspaper:
Author(s). “Title of Article.” Title of Paper (Day Month Year edition): pages.
Medium of Publication.
Newspapers are periodicals. They are cited using the same basic format as a magazine but you should note that the page numbers in a newspaper are different than standard numbers. If there is more than one edition of the paper available for that date, you must include that after the date. If you access the online version of a paper, be sure to inlcude the date you accessed the information.
